Google AI Tiers Revamped: New Ultra Plan Launched
19 May
Summary
- New AI Ultra plan costs $99.99/month with 5x Pro usage limits.
- Google now measures AI usage by compute, not prompts.
- AI subscription limits now refresh every five hours.

Google announced a significant overhaul of its AI subscription services today, introducing a new "AI Ultra" plan priced at $99.99 monthly. This new tier is designed for developers and power users, providing five times the usage limits of the Pro plan. It also includes access to Gemini 3.5 Flash, priority for Google Antigravity, 20TB of cloud storage, and a bundled YouTube Premium subscription.
The company also reduced the price of its highest-tier plan from $250 to $200 per month, maintaining all existing capabilities. The new three-tier structure includes AI Plus at $7.99/month, AI Pro at $19.99/month, and the new AI Ultra at $99.99/month. The exclusive Gemini Spark autonomous AI agent will be available to Ultra subscribers in a beta rollout next week in the U.S.
A major change involves how AI usage is measured. Google has moved from counting individual prompts to calculating compute power used. This means simpler tasks consume fewer resources against user limits than demanding video or coding tasks. Limits will now refresh every five hours instead of resetting daily. If a user hits their cap on a top-tier model, they will be automatically downgraded to a lighter model rather than being cut off.
Furthermore, AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will soon have the option to purchase pay-as-you-go credits for Google Antigravity and Google Flow. Support for the Gemini app is also expected soon, expanding the utility for subscribers.
