Mini PC Packs Major Power for Small Spaces

The GMKtec M5 Ultra redefines what a mini PC can offer, fitting substantial computing power into a device no larger than a hardcover book. This compact machine is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, an 8-core, 16-thread processor complemented by integrated Radeon graphics. It is designed for versatility and expandability, with base configurations including 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD.

Designed for users prioritizing space-saving solutions, the M5 Ultra measures under 5 inches per side and weighs less than a pound. It includes a VESA mount for easy attachment to monitors and boasts three video outputs—HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and USB-C—capable of supporting triple-monitor setups. Additionally, two 2.5GbE Ethernet ports provide advanced networking options.

Expandability is a key feature, with two SO-DIMM slots for RAM up to 64GB and two M.2 2280 SSD slots supporting up to 8TB of storage. Accessing these components requires removing just four screws from the bottom panel. Currently available for $400 on Amazon, a 20% discount from its original $500 price, the M5 Ultra presents a compelling option for gaming, home offices, or media rooms where space is limited.
