GMKtec EVO-T2: Local AI Powerhouse
20 Mar
Summary
- Mini PC supports 70B parameter AI models locally.
- Features PCIe 5.0 storage exceeding 10GB/s speeds.
- Combines CPU, GPU, and NPU for 180 TOPS capability.

The GMKtec EVO-T2 mini PC has been launched, focusing on local artificial intelligence processing. This compact system boasts up to 180 TOPS of compute power by integrating its CPU, GPU, and NPU. It is engineered to run large language models, including those with up to 70 billion parameters, directly on the device without needing external cloud services.
Enhanced by Intel's Panther Lake architecture and advanced manufacturing processes, the EVO-T2 features integrated Intel Arc graphics. Storage performance is significantly boosted by dual M.2 slots supporting PCIe 5.0, enabling sequential data transfer speeds exceeding 10GB per second. This rapid storage complements its AI capabilities.
A notable innovation is the integration of Phison's aiDAPTIV+ AI SSD technology, which effectively extends system memory by dynamically distributing workloads between DRAM and storage. This pseudo-memory mechanism helps mitigate bottlenecks when handling substantial AI models, improving efficiency.
The device also includes support for OpenClaw, enabling autonomous AI agents to operate locally. However, this software has known security vulnerabilities, prompting warnings from Microsoft and Chinese government advisories regarding potential data theft and malware distribution.
