GMKtec has unveiled the EVO-T2 mini PC, a compact powerhouse featuring Intel's cutting-edge Core Ultra X9 388H processor, manufactured on the advanced 18A process. Launched at CES 2026, this device is engineered for peak AI performance, delivering an astounding 180TOPS of throughput, which is approximately 50% more than comparable systems. Intel's CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, personally endorsed the prototype, highlighting its significance as the first consumer device to showcase Intel's 18A process outside the lab.
The EVO-T2 integrates Intel's Panther Lake architecture, featuring advanced RibbonFET transistors and backside power delivery. This design results in over 10% greater single-thread performance and more than 40% reduced power consumption compared to previous generations, alongside a roughly 50% graphics improvement. Jim Johnson, SVP at Intel's Client Computing Group, emphasized the focus on energy efficiency, enhanced CPU performance, and integrated GPUs, creating a robust foundation for next-generation AI PCs.
Encased in a steel and aluminum chassis comparable to a thick paperback, the EVO-T2 offers significant expandability with support for up to 128GB LPDDR5x memory and 16TB of SSD storage across two M.2 slots. Connectivity is robust, including 2.5G and 10G Ethernet, USB4, and an OCuLink port for external GPU expansion. The mini PC is slated for release in Q1 2026, with detailed pricing and global availability to be announced.
