- Significant fan noise and under 2.5 hours battery life are major drawbacks.
The Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 targets gamers seeking top-tier performance in a more portable 16-inch form factor. It combines a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU with a 175W Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU.
The device features an exceptional 16-inch OLED display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, ideal for fast-paced gaming and creative work. Despite its slimmer design, it packs substantial hardware, offering up to 35% faster gaming performance than RTX 5080 laptops.
However, this performance is accompanied by notable drawbacks. The cooling system, while effective, produces significant fan noise, even during lighter workloads. Battery life is also a concern, with web browsing lasting under 2.5 hours, making it more of a desktop replacement.
Build quality is functional, though the plastic chassis lacks a premium feel. Port placement can be awkward due to cooling system design. Despite these compromises, the Aorus Master 16 delivers raw speed for demanding tasks, available now for $4,299 / AU$6,599.
