Genesis AI Unveils Eno: The Future of Physical AI

Genesis AI, a French robotics startup supported by Eric Schmidt, has introduced its initial general-purpose robot named Eno. This new robot diverges from the prevalent humanoid designs, opting for a wheeled base, a foldable tower, and hands that replicate human dexterity. The launch signifies AI's expansion from conversational agents into physical machinery.

Driven by significant AI advancements, the global robotics market is experiencing rapid growth, prompting discussions about employment impacts. Genesis AI, founded in early 2025, has secured $105 million in funding. Eno operates on Genesis' proprietary AI model, with the company intending to commence production and customer deployments by the close of 2026, targeting logistics and manufacturing clients first.

According to Vivian Sun, VP of Commercial and Strategy at Genesis AI, the wheeled base is practical for most industrial settings with flat floors. She clarified that legs would be more suitable for tasks like stair climbing. Schmidt believes Eno will "amplify" human expertise, presenting a major economic opportunity within the AI era, rather than replacing workers.
