Generative AI use among individuals in their teens and 20s has remained consistent, but a growing skepticism about the technology is also emerging within this age group. Although slightly over half of Gen Z uses AI weekly, their concerns regarding its risks and trustworthiness are beginning to align with those of older demographics. This trend was revealed in a recent poll by Gallup, GSV Ventures, and the Walton Family Foundation.
Even younger individuals who previously held favorable views of AI's potential are now questioning its influence on creativity and critical thinking. The survey indicated a notable decrease in enthusiasm for AI among Gen Z, with fewer expressing excitement and hopefulness compared to the previous year. Concerns are specifically directed at AI's effects on learning, thinking, and overall cognitive development, suggesting a shift in perception.
