21 Apr
Summary
- Gemini in Chrome feature now available in seven new markets.
- Feature expanding to desktop and iOS in most new countries.
- Agentic Gemini feature still in U.S. testing for paid plans.

Google is broadening access to its Gemini in Chrome feature, announcing its availability in seven additional markets. As of 2026-04-21, users in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam can now utilize Gemini's capabilities directly within the Chrome browser. The expansion includes both desktop and iOS platforms, with Japan being an exception for iOS availability.
Since last year, Google has been deepening Chrome's integration with AI. Recent enhancements include a sidebar assistant that aids users across multiple tabs, leveraging Gemini's Personal Intelligence for personalized responses. This allows for tasks such as scheduling meetings, checking Maps, and drafting emails within Chrome. Additionally, users can transform web images using advanced AI models.
While Gemini in Chrome has seen steady global rollout since its U.S. debut in January, with expansions to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March, the most advanced agentic capabilities are still under development. These powerful features, which allow AI to control browser windows for task completion, are currently in a testing phase exclusively for users with AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plans in the U.S.
