Gemini AI Now Talks in Your iPhone Chrome Browser
11 Dec
Summary
- Gemini AI is now integrated directly into Chrome for iPhone and iPad.
- Users can now interact with Gemini without leaving the Chrome browser.
- The feature rolls out with Chrome 143 and requires users to be signed in.

iPhone and iPad users can now engage with Google's Gemini AI directly within their Chrome browser, marking a significant convenience upgrade. This integration eliminates the need to switch to a separate app or website to access the AI assistant. Previously, this functionality was exclusive to Android and desktop versions of Chrome, with iOS users now receiving the updated experience.
The rollout is happening gradually with Chrome version 143. Users must be signed into Chrome, set to English, and be over 18 to access the feature, which will not be available in Incognito mode. The Google Lens icon in the address bar transforms into a Gemini spark icon, granting access to Gemini's capabilities, including screen searching and direct prompting.
This new feature allows users to ask Gemini questions, summarize web pages, or even generate FAQs about content. While the integration automatically shares the viewed website with Gemini, users can disable this by pressing a 'Stop' button. This development arrives as Apple actively promotes its own Safari browser, emphasizing privacy features over third-party integrations.
