The Geely Starray EM-i, a new five-seater SUV, has launched in the UK, coinciding with the Chinese lunar Year of the Horse. Priced from under £30,000, this plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is designed from inception for efficient performance, offering a combined 262hp. It boasts a significant electric-only range, with the Ultra model capable of up to 84 miles, while others offer 51 miles. This feature, coupled with a total hybrid range of over 600 miles, provides considerable flexibility.
Geely has collaborated with Lotus Engineering to tune the Starray's chassis, suspension, and dynamic handling specifically for UK roads. The SUV comes in three trim levels: Pro, Max, and Ultra, with varying battery options. The Starray EM-i also features a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and an eight-year warranty, positioning it as a practical and secure choice for UK buyers. Despite its advanced technology, including a 15.4-inch central screen for controls, users may need time to adapt to its interface.
