Galaxy Watch 9 & Ultra 2 Launch Soon: No Classic Model?
10 Jun
Summary
- Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 certified, supporting 10W charging.
- A Classic model for Galaxy Watch 9 is not expected, but a codename suggests otherwise.
- Samsung's July event may also feature three new foldable phones and smart glasses.

Samsung is anticipated to launch at least two new Galaxy Watches, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, at its summer Galaxy Unpacked event next month, rumored for July 22. Both models have received 3C certification in China, confirming 10W charging capabilities, consistent with previous models.
Notably, the certification does not list a Classic variant, suggesting it might skip a 2026 release. This aligns with Samsung's typical two-year release cycle for the Classic model. However, recent development codenames, including 'wise9', hint that a Classic version could still be in development for a future release.
The upcoming Unpacked event is expected to be packed, with Samsung possibly launching three new foldable phones: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and a new, wider Galaxy Z Fold Ultra designed to compete with rivals. Additionally, Samsung's 'Intelligent Eyewear' glasses, previewed in May, might make an appearance, though their release is slated for the fall.
