Galaxy Ring 2 Delayed: Early 2027 Launch Expected

Samsung's Galaxy Ring sequel is reportedly delayed, with development teams now targeting an early 2027 release. This revised schedule, reported by ETNews, considers the expanding smart ring market and the launch cadence of other flagship products. The next generation of the smart ring is expected to boast significant improvements over its predecessor, which currently offers about six days of battery life.

Key upgrades for the Galaxy Ring 2 are anticipated in battery longevity, aiming for an extended 9-10 days of use. Enhancements in comfort are also a priority, with a focus on a thinner and lighter design achieved through optimized component placement. Furthermore, the device will feature advanced sensors, promising improved sleep analysis and more sophisticated body temperature monitoring, alongside expanded cardiovascular health insights.

Samsung is exploring the integration of blood glucose measurement technology, although its inclusion in the Galaxy Ring 2 is uncertain due to challenges with accuracy, regulatory approval, and miniaturization. This feature might debut on the Galaxy Watch instead. There is also consideration for dividing functionalities, with the Ring focusing on sleep and daily health data via Galaxy AI and Samsung Health, while the Galaxy Watch would manage exercise and notification features. The Galaxy Ring 2 is projected to launch alongside the Galaxy S27 lineup in early 2027, potentially around January.
