The all-wheel-drive Ford e-Transit Custom is engineered to tackle challenging conditions, offering capabilities beyond typical van expectations, including impressive handling on slippery surfaces. Its advanced all-wheel-drive system, featuring two independent e-motors and sensors monitoring wheel-slip 50 times per second, ensures optimal torque distribution for superior traction and stability.
This electric van boasts no compromise on payload or load space, now enhanced with a larger 71kWh battery for extended range and quicker recharging. Its performance is highlighted by a substantial 630Nm of torque from a standstill, outperforming its diesel counterpart in acceleration. Ford has integrated technology from its F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and Ranger, adapting it for this versatile all-weather van.
While not a dedicated off-roader due to ground clearance limitations, the e-Transit Custom is adept on rough terrain like Highland gravel roads and can tow up to 2,300kg. Specialized modes, including 'Slippery' and 'Trail', utilize the AWD system to maintain safety and control in diverse conditions. Optional features include a power socket for tools and a flip-up steering wheel with an integrated tray, reinforcing its status as a technologically advanced and practical work vehicle.
