Summary
- Focal Mu-so Hekla boasts detailed sound, premium build, and high cost.
- It functions like a soundbar but Focal insists it's an all-in-one system.
- Dolby Atmos compatibility and HDMI eARC connection enhance its capabilities.

The Focal Mu-so Hekla, released globally from late March 2026, presents a unique audio proposition. Despite its soundbar-like dimensions, HDMI eARC connectivity, and Dolby Atmos support, Focal positions it as an "immersive Home Cinema system" rather than a traditional soundbar.
This premium wireless speaker features a robust aluminum build and 15 drivers powered by 660 watts of Naim-designed Class D power. It supports high-resolution audio up to 32-bit/384kHz and offers extensive connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and optical input.
The Focal & Naim control app provides granular control over its five spatial audio modes and a three-band EQ. While it cannot disable spatial audio processing, it aims to optimize sound for any room and input, delivering a spacious and immersive listening experience.
Available for £2,999 in the UK, $3,599 in the US, and AU$6,499 in Australia, the Mu-so Hekla is a significant investment. It offers impressive dynamic range, articulate midrange, and detailed treble, making it one of the most capable one-box spatial audio solutions available.
