Fairphone's latest Fairbuds XL, released for 2025, enhance both audio fidelity and environmental responsibility. These modular headphones now boast new 40mm dynamic drivers and N52 magnets for superior bass response and improved accuracy across mid and high frequencies, complemented by a refined paper-based speaker membrane. The updated tuning delivers notably cleaner bass and sharper tones, making for an immersive listening experience. The active noise cancellation remains effective, handling ambient sounds with ease.
Beyond sound, the 2025 Fairbuds XL significantly advance Fairphone's commitment to sustainability. The ear cushions now feature breathable Bird's Eye Fabric, replacing less eco-friendly PU leather, and the headband also uses a fabric material. Internally, the headphones incorporate 100 percent fair mined cobalt, copper, and silver, alongside 100 percent recycled rare earth metals for magnets. The assembly facility operates on 100 percent renewable energy, and over 90 percent recycled aluminum and 80 percent recycled plastics are used.
