Epic Games Store Overhaul Promises 5x Faster Startup

Epic Games is reportedly preparing a significant redesign for its PC game launcher, with claims of a ground-up rebuild promising substantially faster performance. According to information shared at Unreal Fest, the update aims for a "5x faster cold start" and "6.5x faster systray restore to library" on average. This overhaul is expected to address the lag issues some users experience with larger game libraries.

The upcoming redesign also introduces several new features intended to enhance user interaction and discovery. These include personalized game recommendations on the homepage and quick-access categories for simplified browsing. Product detail pages will be tailored to individual players, fostering community connections and tracking progression. Patch notes will be directly available on game storefronts, mirroring functionalities found on platforms like Steam.
