Epic Games Launches Cross-Platform Voice Chat Parties

Epic Games has launched Epic Parties, a new voice chat feature designed to enhance social interaction across its gaming platforms. This system allows players to connect via voice chat regardless of the hardware they are using, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.

Players can start voice chats directly from their friends list or by converting existing text conversations with a simple button. A key convenience is the ability to seamlessly move a voice chat from the Epic Games app into a game like Fortnite, or vice versa. When players are invited to an Epic Party and are in-game, they will automatically be placed together in the same Fortnite lobby.

This feature extends to mobile devices, allowing chats to continue in the background while playing other Epic Games Store titles. The introduction of Epic Parties builds upon the text chat options that Epic Games began implementing across its services last year, offering a more robust communication suite for its player base.
