Instagram Lets You Edit Comments: Fix Mistakes Fast!

Instagram users can now edit their comments shortly after posting, a feature announced on Thursday. This new functionality allows users to correct typos or update their thoughts within a 15-minute window from the initial post. While there's no limit to the number of edits within this timeframe, the edited comment will be visibly marked as modified to other users. However, the version history of the edits will not be accessible.

This update applies to text edits only, meaning photo attachments cannot be altered post-comment. The feature is available on the Instagram iOS and Android apps, including for comments on Reels content, but not on the web version. Users retain the option to delete comments entirely if preferred. Instagram has been testing various premium features, some of which may become part of a paid subscription.

These potential paid features, tested in overseas markets, include weekly story highlights, private story viewing, and extended story durations. The comment editing feature, however, appears to be a widely available, free update for all users on mobile platforms.
