Highlight text to prompt Gemini for file modifications.

Gemini has introduced a significant update, enabling users to generate, preview, and edit various file types directly within the application. This new capability extends to PDFs, Google Docs, Google Sheets, slide decks, Markdown files, TXT files, and code.

The feature is accessible to all Gemini users starting today. While PDF previews and editing are supported on both the web and mobile platforms, the editing of other file formats is currently exclusive to the web version.

Users can now expand documents to edit them in full-screen mode. Furthermore, highlighting text within a file allows users to prompt Gemini for modifications, such as converting a highlighted table into a graph. This functionality enhances the workflow by eliminating the need to switch between applications for file manipulation.
