VidaBay has introduced the Classic Plus NFC E-Ink Fridge Magnet, a small digital photo frame designed to look like a Polaroid. It utilizes color E Ink screens, similar to those found on electronic retail price tags, to display photos directly from a smartphone. This innovative device eliminates the need for batteries. Instead, it draws the necessary power for screen updates directly from an NFC-enabled smartphone during wireless image transfers via VidaBay's mobile app. Once an image is transferred and displayed, it remains static without consuming further power.
The display technology employed is E Ink's Spectra 3100, which is optimized for retail environments. This means its color palette is restricted to black, yellow, red, and white particles.
