Duolingo Explains Answers for Free Users!

Duolingo announced that its helpful Explain My Answer feature will now be accessible to all free users on iOS devices starting January 1, 2026. This significant update brings advanced learning support to a wider audience, enhancing the language learning experience.

Launched initially as part of the premium Duolingo Max subscription, which costs $30 per month, the feature offers users detailed breakdowns of grammatical concepts and clarifies why specific answers were marked wrong. This goes beyond simple memorization, fostering a deeper understanding of language rules.

Initially, English speakers learning Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Korean will benefit from this expansion. Duolingo is actively working to extend this feature to Android users and support additional languages, aiming to make effective learning tools universally available.
