Summary
- New vacuums feature millimeter-level obstacle awareness.
- LiDAR-guided mopping arm reaches under furniture.
- Local Data Mode enhances home data privacy.

DJI has introduced its ROMO 2 series of robot vacuums at IFA 2026, building upon its original line with significant upgrades. The ROMO P2 and ROMO A2 models boast a refined perception system that achieves millimeter-level awareness of floor-level obstacles, improving their ability to navigate around items like cables and adjust cleaning approaches. Integrated lights help detect dirt in low-light conditions.
Further enhancing cleaning performance, the ROMO 2 vacuums include a LiDAR-guided mopping arm with a 123-degree swing, designed to reach under furniture. They also feature a high suction power of up to 36,000 Pa and robot legs capable of traversing ledges up to 8.5cm. These improvements aim for a more comprehensive and efficient cleaning experience.
A notable addition is the Local Data Mode, available from Q4 2026, which enhances data privacy by disconnecting the DJI Home app from the internet. This prevents captured photos or videos from being sent to external servers, addressing privacy concerns. Users can also disable cameras and microphones, and personal data can be deleted.
Pricing for the DJI ROMO 2 models has been announced for Europe. The DJI ROMO P2 starts at €1,299 with a translucent base station, and the DJI ROMO A2 begins at €1,199 with a white base station. Both models are available for pre-order in September through DJI or select retail partners.
