Disney Plus & Hulu Unite: Your Streaming Experience Changes
21 May
Summary
- Hulu profiles can now be linked to Disney Plus accounts.
- Watch history and recommendations will sync between services.
- Full merger onto a single platform is planned by Disney.
As of May 20, 2026, Disney Plus is enhancing its platform by integrating features from Hulu. Users can now link their existing Hulu profiles to their Disney Plus accounts. This linking process imports watch history, personal watchlists, and content recommendations directly into the Disney Plus application, aiming to create a more personalized viewing experience.
This integration is a precursor to Disney's reported plans to fully merge Hulu and Disney Plus onto a unified technical platform. Although a complete sunsetting of the standalone Hulu app is not currently planned, the company is working towards a cohesive streaming ecosystem. The linking feature is available to eligible bundle subscribers, with broader availability expected later in 2026.
Content from Hulu will become more accessible within Disney Plus. Previously watched shows and movies will appear in the "Continue Watching" section, and Hulu's "My Stuff" list will integrate with Disney Plus's "Watchlist." A dedicated Hulu hub already exists within the Disney Plus app, and new features like a "Live Guide" are being tested to incorporate live content streams.
