Dell is set to release its new 14S laptop this fall, aiming to capture the student market with a blend of style and performance. The device boasts a durable all-aluminum chassis, weighing approximately 2.5 pounds, and will be available in several distinctive color options.
Under the hood, the Dell 14S is equipped with Intel's Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 chips, codenamed Wildcat Lake. These processors are designed for energy efficiency, promising extended 'all-day' battery life thanks to a 3-cell, 61.2Wh battery with enhanced capacity retention.
The laptop offers a choice between a high-resolution 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) 120Hz display or a 2K (1,920 x 1,200) 60Hz LCD panel. The brighter display option can reach 450 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use.
Configuration options include 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Dell has not yet revealed pricing, with the final cost expected closer to the release date, a common strategy amid component shortages.
