NordVPN has launched Dark Web Monitor Pro, enhancing its cybersecurity suite by expanding its dark web scanning capabilities. Previously limited to email addresses, the upgraded tool now actively searches for leaked credit card numbers, national ID numbers, and phone numbers, a crucial addition following Google's discontinuation of its Dark Web Report feature.
The tool's expansion addresses the widespread issue of data breaches, with over 900 million leaked email addresses and 650 million passwords identified on the dark web in 2025 alone. Criminals often compile these stolen details into massive databases for identity theft and financial fraud. Dark Web Monitor Pro now analyzes "combo lists"—collections of credentials from multiple breaches—to detect reused information.
Users upgrading to Dark Web Monitor Pro can monitor up to eight email addresses, two credit cards, two national ID numbers, and one phone number. Sensitive information entered by users is hashed for enhanced security. While phone number monitoring is available in select countries, the company has not specified which ones, aiming to empower users to protect their digital footprint.
