Eye Scans Fight Ticket Bots With Concert Kit
17 Apr
Summary
- Concert Kit uses World ID's orb-based system for ticket verification.
- Artists can reserve tickets for verified human fans only.
- Bruno Mars will use this solution on his upcoming world tour.

Concert Kit, a new feature utilizing the revamped World ID's eye and face scanning technology, aims to combat ticket scalping bots. World ID, described as a "human passport for the internet," generates a unique "proof of human" signature on users' devices without revealing personal information.
This system allows artists to allocate a specific pool of tickets for verified human fans. These fans can then use their World ID to obtain codes for major ticketing platforms like Ticketmaster and Eventbrite, bypassing bot-driven scalping tactics. Artists have the flexibility to set their desired verification levels.
Bruno Mars is scheduled to incorporate Concert Kit into his upcoming world tour, with the solution becoming available to other artists starting today. This initiative is part of broader updates to World ID, which include integrations with services like Tinder, Zoom, and DocuSign.
Tinder is rolling out World ID support globally for profile verification, while Zoom and DocuSign will use it to confirm user authenticity in video calls and document signings. Tools for Humanity also launched a standalone World ID app, separating its identity verification tools from its crypto wallet.
Tools for Humanity acknowledges potential user skepticism regarding biometric verification but emphasizes that World ID usage is optional. The company compares the initial discomfort to the adoption of TouchID or FaceID, highlighting that World ID provides an "enhanced experience" for those who choose to use it, ensuring a more secure and unique digital identity.
