Summary
- Petite 52-pound electric cargo bike with 325-pound capacity
- Lacks pedals, drivetrain, and chain, making it hard to categorize
- Designed for urban commuting, with 20 mph top speed and 48-mile range

As of November 13th, 2025, a unique electric cargo bike called the MG Doble is making waves in the urban transportation scene. Measuring about the size of a Schwinn Stingray, the 52-pound Doble packs a punch with its 749-watt motor, two easily rechargeable batteries, and a capacity to haul up to 325 pounds.
What sets the Doble apart is its unconventional design. Unlike traditional bikes, it lacks pedals, a drivetrain, and a chain, making it hard to categorize. According to JackRabbit CEO Jason Kenagy, the company's products, including the Doble, are "about transportation" and aimed at competing with cars more than bicycles.
Despite its toy-like appearance, the Doble is purpose-built for urban commuting. It offers three official modes – Eco, Mid, and High – with the latter topping out at 20 miles per hour. An additional off-road mode can also be unlocked for use on private roads by riders 18 and older. With a range of around 48 miles, the Doble presents a compelling alternative to traditional cars for short-distance urban travel.
