The Clicks Communicator, a new smartphone evoking nostalgia for BlackBerry devices, is set to begin shipping in December, almost a year after its initial CES 2026 unveiling. This final version boasts upgraded specifications, including 12GB of RAM and a 4,350mAh battery. It will operate on Android 17, with software support extending to Android 20 and five years of security updates.
The device integrates a physical QWERTY keyboard beneath its 4.03-inch AMOLED display, a nod to older mobile phones. This keyboard is touch-sensitive, allowing for navigation by swiping, and its spacebar doubles as a fingerprint sensor. Clicks will offer various language layouts for the keyboard. Internally, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip and comes with 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included.
Clicks is marketing the Communicator not as a direct competitor to high-end smartphones, but as a distinct 'mobile communicator' better suited for calls and messages. While it includes a 50MP rear camera and a 24MP front camera, the device's processor and screen aspect ratio are not designed for intense app usage or multi-lens photography, positioning it as a niche product.
