Claude Connects: AI Meets Your Everyday Apps

Anthropic has announced a significant update for its AI tool, Claude, introducing a suite of new connectors designed to link the AI with commonly used everyday services. These connectors are essentially extensions that empower Claude to access user applications, retrieve pertinent data, and execute actions within those platforms.

Previously launched in July 2025, the Claude connector directory has rapidly grown to exceed 200 options. Anthropic has indicated that this expansion is ongoing, with plans for further additions. The AI's ability to interact with external applications is a feature also present in competitors like Gemini and ChatGPT, which offer similar integrations with their respective ecosystems.

Claude's updated approach includes dynamic suggestions for connectors, aiming to streamline user interaction by offering the most relevant tool based on the ongoing conversation. This contrasts with earlier methods where users might have had to manually specify connector needs. Anthropic emphasizes that these connectors are designed for ease of access and do not utilize retrieved data for model training.
