Anthropic's Claude Cowork AI platform is breaking free from desktop-only access, with mobile and web availability commencing on Tuesday. Initially, this expanded reach is being rolled out to Max subscribers, and it is expected to become available to all Claude users in the upcoming weeks.
Previously confined to the Claude desktop application for macOS and Windows, Claude Cowork can now be utilized by users on both iOS and Android devices. While the desktop application retains some features for a "full experience," such as local file access, cloud processing is now the default for Cowork sessions. This shift enables seamless continuation of work across multiple devices and allows Cowork tasks to run in the background even when a laptop is closed.
Further enhancing flexibility, scheduled tasks will now execute regardless of device connectivity, and users can opt to receive phone notifications from Claude when tasks require review or approval. In conjunction with these accessibility improvements, Anthropic has extended its doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5th.
