Google has issued a significant security update for Chrome, addressing over 200 vulnerabilities, with many classified as critical. The latest version, 157.0.8103.38/39 for Windows and macOS, and 157.0.8103.38 for Linux, is available now. Importantly, Google has stated that none of the newly patched flaws have been exploited in the wild.
Beyond the crucial security fixes, Chrome 157 introduces a convenient new feature for sending open browser tabs between devices. Users signed into the same Chrome account across their phone, tablet, and computer can now easily share tabs. This feature can be accessed more quickly via the tab's context menu.
Of the 213 vulnerabilities fixed, 130 were discovered internally by Google, while external researchers reported the remainder, earning them over $31,000 in bounties. Seven vulnerabilities were deemed critical, including four use-after-free flaws. Additionally, 77 vulnerabilities were high risk, 75 medium, and 54 low risk.
