The latest security update for Google Chrome, version 147, has been released, patching a total of 19 vulnerabilities. Two of these reported issues have been classified as high-risk, with another identified as medium-risk. Specifically, a use-after-free vulnerability in the DevTools component and a memory access error in the GPU module were addressed.
Developers have implemented fixes for these security concerns in Chrome versions 147.0.7727.116/117 for Windows and macOS, and 147.0.7727.116 for Linux. Google confirmed that none of the vulnerabilities patched in this update are currently being exploited by malicious actors in the wild.
Chrome typically updates automatically, but users can manually check for new versions through the Help > About Google Chrome menu. Alongside desktop updates, Chrome for Android (147.0.7727.111) and iOS (148.0.7778.47) have also received security enhancements. An update for the Extended Stable Channel is also available. The next major release, Chrome 148, is anticipated in early May.
