French startup NAOX is showcasing innovative wearable EEG technology, including wireless earbuds capable of monitoring brain health. The NAOX Wave, slated for release by the end of 2026, integrates this advanced brain-scanning capability into a consumer-friendly earbud form factor. These earbuds aim to discreetly track biomarkers associated with mental activity throughout the day, including during sleep.
Users can anticipate detailed insights into their mental well-being, sleep patterns, and cognitive performance through a dedicated companion application. The app will also provide metrics such as the user's "brain age." NAOX’s clinical EEG device, the Link NX01, is also being presented as a more convenient alternative for long-term studies in healthcare settings.
Beyond its own product launch, NAOX is exploring licensing its in-ear EEG technology to other established audio manufacturers. This strategic move suggests that brain-monitoring features could become a common offering across a wider range of earbuds from various brands in the near future.
