BMW has expanded its X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) lineup, now offering both a petrol variant alongside the existing electric iX1.
The iX1 LWB comes equipped with a 66.4 kWh battery, promising an estimated 531 km range on a single charge, with real-world expectations around 400 km. It delivers approximately 204 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, making it a potent option, particularly for urban driving due to its lower running costs and performance.
Conversely, the newly introduced petrol X1 LWB features a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 156 bhp and 230 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. While it offers less power than its electric counterpart, it eliminates range anxiety, a significant advantage for those undertaking frequent long-distance travel.
In terms of pricing, the iX1 LWB is priced at Rs 52.4 lakh, while the petrol version is more accessible at Rs 49.9 lakh. This makes the petrol model a more budget-friendly choice for consumers prioritizing the convenience of refueling over the performance and running cost benefits of the electric variant.
