Users began reporting significant issues accessing the social media platform Bluesky on Sunday morning. Complaints included login failures, unrefreshing feeds, and general connection errors across both the app and website. Outage tracking service Downdetector saw reports climb, noting the increase around 11:05 a.m. Eastern time. However, other monitoring services presented a mixed picture.

Entireweb Status indicated Bluesky was operating normally, while IsDown reported zero user submissions in a similar timeframe. StatusGator suggested a potential outage, despite no official acknowledgment. This inconsistency highlights the challenges in tracking platform outages when automated services utilize different data sources, leading to varied conclusions.

Bluesky's decentralized AT Protocol infrastructure, relying on Personal Data Servers (PDS), has caused past disruptions. Notably, an April 2025 outage was attributed to "Major PDS Networking Problems." A more recent incident on August 5 also pointed to backend infrastructure issues affecting multiple PDS instances.

As of Sunday, Bluesky had not issued a detailed public statement addressing the scope, cause, or expected resolution timeline.
