Blink Cameras Get AI Video Summaries
8 Dec
Summary
- Blink is launching AI video event descriptions for its cameras.
- The feature will initially be a free beta for select Blink Plus subscribers.
- This AI summary capability is also available on Ring and Google Nest cameras.

Blink is introducing an artificial intelligence-powered feature that will generate natural-language summaries of individual video events captured by its security cameras. This new capability, named Blink Video Descriptions, aims to provide users with concise, relevant information about motion alerts.
The feature is scheduled to begin a beta rollout today for select Blink Plus subscribers in the United States. It will be compatible with all current Blink cameras and doorbells. Blink Video Descriptions are designed to identify the main subject of an alert and describe their actions.
This development follows similar AI summary functionalities launched by Amazon-owned Ring and Google's Nest cameras. While Ring's feature includes searchable descriptions, Blink's initial offering will focus solely on event summaries, with subscription requirements post-beta yet to be determined.
