Summary
- Aetherion Max uses laser light source to project 4K resolution.
- Anti-RBE technology aims to significantly reduce rainbow artifacts.
- Projector offers a wide color gamut and 25,000-hour light source.

The Aetherion Max, a new 4K DLP projector from AWOL, utilizes a single 1080p DLP chip with pixel-shifting for its 3,840 by 2,160 resolution.
It employs a red, green, and blue laser light source. A key feature is its Anti-Rainbow Effect (Anti-RBE) technology, which aims to mitigate rainbow artifacts that can occur with sequential color projection.
While the Anti-RBE technology in the Aetherion Max reduces rainbow flashes, it is not as effective as in AWOL's VisionMaster Max. The company attributes this difference to a new DLP platform and is seeking enhancements.
The projector's Anti-RBE engages automatically with the 'Warm-1' color temperature setting, limiting user customization for this feature. However, it functions for both 2D and 3D content.
Beyond artifact reduction, the Aetherion Max delivers a brightness of 3,300 ISO lumens and a color gamut 110% of the BT.2020 standard. Its laser light source is rated for 25,000 hours. The lens supports sharp images up to a 200-inch diagonal screen size.
