Audio-Technica has expanded its open-back headphone line with the introduction of the ATH-AL5NC, marking their first venture into wireless open-back models. These new headphones, available starting today, September 9, 2026, incorporate custom 53mm drivers designed to deliver detailed and expansive audio. The open housing design is intended to improve airflow and reduce heat buildup during extended use.
The ATH-AL5NC headphones offer impressive battery performance, with up to 75 hours of playback on a single charge, or 50 hours when the noise reduction feature is active. A quick 15-minute charge provides up to eight hours of listening time. The headphones also support 24-bit/96 kHz high-resolution audio and LDAC, alongside multipoint connectivity for simultaneous connection to two devices.
Additional features include a low-latency mode suitable for gaming and video, an integrated microphone for calls, and customizable EQ and Soundscape modes via the A-T Connect app. For those preferring a wired connection, an optional listening mode is available with a bundled 1.2m cable. The ATH-AL5NC are priced at £219.
