6 Jul
Summary
- 2026 Zephyrus G16 boasts improved battery life and performance.
- New model suffers from a steep $3,699 starting price.
- Design retains an older keyboard and heavy power brick.
The 2026 Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop emerges with notable enhancements over its predecessor. It now features improved battery life, maintaining over 13 hours of web surfing at 150 nits, significantly outperforming many competitors. Performance also sees a boost with stronger CPU and GPU capabilities, delivering high frame rates in demanding games.
Despite these advancements, the Zephyrus G16 carries over some drawbacks from the 2025 model. Users will encounter the same chiclet keyboard and a heavy 250W proprietary power brick, impacting portability. Furthermore, the starting price has escalated to $3,699, making it a considerable investment.
This premium pricing and the continuation of older design elements present a mixed value proposition. While the laptop offers a visually stunning display, powerful internals, and extended battery life for general use, potential buyers must weigh these against the significant cost and lingering legacy features. It remains a powerful option for gamers and STEM professionals, provided the budget allows.
