Summary
- Zenbook 14 offers premium features at a $799 starting price.
- It uses a Snapdragon X processor, not the top-tier X2 Elite.
- Storage is limited to 256 GB with a PCIe 3.0 SSD.
The Asus Zenbook 14, a new Snapdragon-based laptop, offers a premium experience at a more affordable starting price of $799. It shares the sleek design and high build quality of its more expensive counterparts, featuring a 14-inch OLED screen and a durable Ceraluminium chassis available in stylish colors like Zabriskie Beige, grey-blue, and coral pink.
While the build and display remain top-notch, Asus has made performance and storage adjustments to lower the cost. This model utilizes the previous-generation Snapdragon X processor instead of the X2 Elite, paired with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD. This configuration offers adequate speed for everyday tasks such as office work, web browsing, and video streaming, making it a suitable option for students.
Connectivity includes two USB-C 4 ports, one USB-A, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack, though it supports Wi-Fi 6e rather than the latest Wi-Fi 7. Despite the performance trade-offs, the Zenbook 14 provides a compelling package for users seeking a stylish and capable laptop without the highest price tag.
