The ASUS ROG Gjallar soundbar, introduced in early July, is now available in the US for $600. This marks ASUS' debut in the gaming soundbar market, with its design specifically targeting multiplayer experiences. The device includes an audio control hub with integrated microphones that filter teammate voices and in-game audio while suppressing background noise.
Named after the legendary Gjallarhorn, the soundbar boasts a 5.1.2-channel configuration for immersive Dolby Atmos audio. It features a wireless 6.5-inch 65W subwoofer with a dedicated 5GHz connection to minimize lag. The control hub also has an LCD display for volume, playback, input selection, and EQ profiles.
Connectivity is extensive, offering USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eART, optical, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3. This allows seamless switching between gaming PCs, Macs, mobile devices, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch, as well as traditional TVs. Two additional USB Type-A ports accommodate accessories like wireless dongles. The ROG Gjallar is listed on Best Buy and ASUS' US website, with users able to sign up for availability notifications.
