Summary
- Artisan AI was temporarily banned from LinkedIn for website naming and data broker concerns.
- The ban caused viral social media posts, increasing Artisan AI's visibility.
- The startup is now reinstated on LinkedIn and plans to expand services.

Artisan AI, a prominent San Francisco startup, recently experienced a sudden disappearance from LinkedIn, triggering viral speculation across social media platforms. The company's LinkedIn presence, including executive profiles and posts, was inaccessible, with messages indicating content restrictions. CEO Jaspar Carmichael-Jack confirmed the temporary ban, clarifying it was not due to AI agents spamming users as rumored.
Instead, LinkedIn's concerns were reportedly related to Artisan AI using LinkedIn's name on its website and allegations of employing data brokers who had scraped the site without permission. Data scraping violates LinkedIn's terms of service. The ban, while not ideal, unexpectedly boosted Artisan AI's visibility, with Carmichael-Jack humorously noting increased lead flow during the restriction period.
Following a two-week resolution process, Artisan AI has been reinstated on LinkedIn. The company addressed LinkedIn's concerns by removing all mentions of the platform from its website and ensuring its data partners comply with policies. Carmichael-Jack downplayed the ban's long-term impact, stating that most of Artisan AI's data is sourced elsewhere, and the company is preparing to launch new autonomous features and outbound calling services.
