Summary
- The P100 sensor monitors access, vibration, and movement independently.
- It offers dual connectivity via Thread for Matter platforms and Zigbee.
- This device replaces bulky sensors, offering advanced home security.

Aqara has introduced the Multi-State P100 sensor, a small device capable of monitoring door, drawer, and window access without additional attachments. It also detects tampering, vibration, and movement, representing a significant advancement in standalone home security technology.
The P100 integrates multiple functions into a key fob-sized unit, easily attachable to various surfaces. Its independent sensing capabilities eliminate the need for traditional two-part sensors, simplifying installation and enhancing accuracy.
Connectivity options include Thread, enabling integration with Matter-compatible platforms like Apple Home and Google Home. For full functionality, including object monitoring and custom detection settings, Zigbee connectivity via Aqara's app is required. This necessitates an Aqara hub or camera, which may incur additional costs.
In testing, the P100 performed exceptionally, accurately reporting open/close status and object monitoring events, including vibration detection on windows. While occasional recalibration was needed after mode switching, the battery life proved excellent. The sensor's flexibility allows for diverse security applications and smart home automations, such as triggering lights or adjusting climate control based on detected activity.
