Summary
- Series 11 adds FDA-cleared hypertension detection for proactive health monitoring.
- Battery life boosted to 24 hours, supporting all-day activity and sleep tracking.
- New Ion-X glass enhances durability, potentially bridging gap with Ultra 3.

The Apple Watch Series 11 has been released, featuring significant enhancements over its predecessor, the Series 10. A key upgrade is the introduction of FDA-cleared hypertension detection, a feature aimed at proactively monitoring users' blood pressure and promoting health awareness. This new capability utilizes the watch's PPG heart sensor over a 30-day period.
Battery life has seen a substantial improvement, now offering 24 hours of continuous use. This extended capacity supports all-day activity tracking, sleep monitoring, and communication without the need for interim charging. The design remains consistent with the Series 10, retaining its 2,000-nit screen brightness, while newer models like the Ultra 3 offer higher brightness.
Durability is also enhanced with the inclusion of Ion-X glass, potentially closing the gap with the more premium Ultra 3 model. Software updates, such as WatchOS 26, will also extend to older Series 9 and Ultra 2 models. The Series 11 is positioned as an ideal upgrade for existing smartwatch users looking for advanced health insights and extended battery performance.
