Eligible iPhone owners in the United States can now file claims for Apple's $250 million settlement concerning the delayed release of its upgraded Siri, which features 'Apple Intelligence.' Payouts begin at $25 per device and could increase to a maximum of $95, depending on the total number of claims filed.
The class action lawsuit, Landsheft et al. v. Apple Inc., alleged that Apple falsely advertised the iPhone 16 as being equipped for the advanced Siri when it was not yet ready. The updated Siri was ultimately delivered to users with iOS 27 earlier this month, over two years after its initial demonstration.
This settlement applies to purchases made between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, including specific models from the iPhone 15 and 16 lineups. To be eligible, claimants must be the original purchasers of the device for personal or work use, not for resale. Claims can be submitted on the official website, SmartphoneAISettlement.com, with a deadline of December 21, 2026.
Payments are expected to be distributed after the final approval hearing scheduled for February 24, 2027, though any appeals could further delay the process. Apple has denied any wrongdoing as part of the settlement agreement.
