The transition to Apple silicon began in 2020, and the company's chips have since advanced to their sixth generation.
Despite this change, current Intel Mac users will not lose access to their existing applications. Developers are not required to remove support for older versions of their software, meaning users can continue to utilize the last available app versions that function on Intel processors. macOS 27 is currently in beta and expected to be released later this month.
