Apple Inc. is reducing its commission fees for app developers in mainland China. Starting March 15, the standard rate for software and in-app purchases on the China App Store will decrease from 30% to 25%. This adjustment, effective for both iOS and iPadOS apps, follows discussions with Chinese regulators. Additionally, the commission for developers in the small business program and for mini apps will drop from 15% to 12%.
Apple's forthcoming foldable iPhone, expected this fall, will incorporate significant iOS updates to support iPad-like layouts and side-by-side app functionality, aiming to boost multitasking appeal. The device is rumored to feature a large interior foldable display and a smaller external screen. It will utilize a new display technology to minimize creases and enhance durability, a key concern for foldable devices.
The foldable iPhone will introduce a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera on its external display, replacing the notch. This design change, necessitated by the thin front panel, will be accompanied by the integration of Touch ID into the side button, marking the return of a fingerprint sensor on an iPhone. While running standard iOS, the device will support dual-app multitasking, similar to competing foldable phones.
