Anker's Soundcore Nebula P1 projector distinguishes itself with innovative detachable, wireless speakers that significantly enhance audio immersion. These 10W speakers can be positioned on either side of the screen, providing an immediate and noticeable improvement in sound quality. The projector itself features a 1080p resolution and a design that offers protection during transport.
Despite a list price of $799, which is frequently discounted, the P1's audio capabilities are considered above average for its category. While improvements in brightness and color quality would be welcome, the current combination of image and sound performance has earned it an Editors' Choice recognition.
The projector's design includes a gimbal-mounted tower and speakers that attach magnetically, with a connection for charging. The speakers, rated for 20 hours of playback, can also be powered and charged independently via USB-C. Initial setup is standard, utilizing Google TV OS and Wi-Fi, with HDMI and USB ports available for local video sources.
In terms of image quality, the P1 offers acceptable color accuracy and good contrast, with minimal rainbow artifacts observed. It supports HDR10 input and features low input lag, making it suitable for gamers. The projector's brightness is adequate for dark rooms, though ambient light can wash out the image.
