The Andhra Pradesh government has officially approved the creation of the AI Living Labs Foundation, a not-for-profit organization aimed at cultivating a robust artificial intelligence ecosystem within the state. This foundation will operate AI Living Labs across Andhra Pradesh, with its central hub situated in Amaravati. Its core mission is to provide crucial resources such as shared GPU computing power, AI tools, curated datasets, and sandboxes to facilitate workforce skilling. The initiative is strategically aligned with the state's objective of achieving inclusive digital growth and its distinctive goal of ensuring at least one AI-trained individual in every family. The foundation will coordinate various AI skilling programs, including certification pathways, curriculum development, and faculty training, adopting a hub-and-spoke model to extend shared AI infrastructure and innovation platforms to students, researchers, startups, MSMEs, and government bodies. Furthermore, it will champion applied research, focusing on the development of advanced AI models and large language models (LLMs), and will be instrumental in deploying AI solutions across key sectors like agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and fintech. Funding for these endeavors will be sourced from government grants, corporate social responsibility contributions, and partner investments.
