Amnezia VPN has rolled out version 4.8.15, introducing significant security enhancements and quality-of-life improvements. The update resolves a critical vulnerability in the tun2socks module, a network utility that routes traffic through proxy servers. This flaw, which impacted several major VPN providers, could have allowed spyware to access user IP addresses.
The new version also brings OS-specific bug fixes. Linux users will experience more stable protected connections, while Android users will no longer encounter app crashes during backup imports. Apple users benefit from resolved operational issues with Self-hosted and OpenVPN connections, alongside fixes for connection recovery over the XRay protocol.
Quality-of-life upgrades include the addition of split tunneling for the VLESS protocol on iOS. This feature allows users to select which applications use the VPN tunnel. Additionally, Amnezia VPN has simplified subscription management, enabling direct renewals within the app or via the Personal Dashboard on its website.
